Call for Abstracts
We invite students, doctoral candidates, researchers and practitioners to present their work at Carmentalia. Submissions are accepted from speakers attending in-person and remotely alike.
Who can submit
The conference is open. We welcome people beginning their academic path as well as experienced researchers, doctoral candidates, academic staff, and practitioners from the technology industry. Secondary-school pupils are welcome to attend as listeners.

The areas below are examples and prompts rather than a closed list — original proposals that fit the theme of the future of humanity and technology are equally welcome.

Languages and format
- Papers are given in Polish and in English.
- The Polish-language section runs in-person at the Faculty of Philosophy AMU in Poznań.
- The English-language section runs in a two-way hybrid mode: in-person located in AMU and online via Microsoft Teams.
- A paper slot is roughly 20 minutes including discussion; invited lectures run 45 minutes.
Publication
We plan a peer-reviewed post-conference publication in an indexed academic journal.

When and where does the conference take place?
On 11 December 2026, from 9:30 to 19:00, at the Faculty of Philosophy of Adam Mickiewicz University — Ogrody Campus, Szamarzewskiego 89c, Poznań. The English-language track is also available online.
In which language are the papers given?
In Polish and in English. The Polish-language track runs in-person; the English-language track runs both in-person and online.
Which platform is used for online participation?
Microsoft Teams, which also carries the live stream.
Can I attend without giving a paper?
Yes. The conference is open to listeners, including secondary-school pupils.
Will the papers be published?
We plan a peer-reviewed post-conference publication in an indexed academic journal.
Is there a conference fee?
No. Giving a paper and attending the conference are both entirely free of charge. Given that format, travel, accommodation and similar costs are not covered by the organisers.
Do I have to register in order to listen?
No. Attending as a listener, without giving a paper, requires no registration. Everyone is welcome.
Will I receive a certificate of participation?
Yes. Every speaker who presents their work at the conference receives a valid certificate confirming their participation.
Will the sessions be recorded and published?
The event is streamed over Microsoft Teams, and is also photographed and recorded. Further details are given in the conference rules and in the GDPR privacy notice.
