Conference rules

The rules for taking part in Carmentalia — for speakers and listeners, in-person and online.

General provisions

  1. The conference Carmentalia: The Future of Humanity and Technology, called later in the terms and conditions The Conference C:TFoHaT, is going to take place on 11th of December 2026 at the Faculty of Philosophy of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Ogrody Campus Szamarzewskiego 89c Street, 60-568 Poznań) and in online form via Teams.
  2. The organisers of The Conference C:TFoHaT are SK SKF UAM Konwersatorium pod Kałamarnicą as the section of the Philosophy Students Association at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Scientific Students Association Axion at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, called later in the terms and conditions The Organisers.
  3. The conference is open to applications from bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students, academic and academic-teaching staff, and any other individuals whose research is related to the conference’s theme.
  4. Opening registration for the conference is an invitation to participants of the Conference C:TFoHaT to submit proposals for an agreement to actively participate (i.e. to deliver an original paper) in the conference.
  5. The agreement is concluded upon confirmation of participation in the Conference C:TFoHaT by the Organisers, in the form of a reply email sent to the address provided by the conference participant at the time of registration.
  6. In case of a big interest in the event The Organisers reserve the right to extend The Conference C:TFoHaT by one day. The Organisers will be informing about all changes via the website and email (when it comes to registered participants).

Rules of an active participation

  1. The programme of The Conference C:TFoHaT will be available on the website https://carmentalia.info/. The Organisers reserve the right to change the programme in case of switches in speakers of The Conference C:TFoHaT place, which are beyond The Organisers’ control. The Organisers will be informing about all changes via the website and email (when it comes to registered participants).
  2. Participants can take an active part (which is to deliver a paper) in The Conference C:TFoHaT if they register their participation on the website https://carmentalia.info/.
  3. Registering an active participation in The Conference C:TFoHaT means agreeing to these terms and conditions.
  4. An active participation is completely free. An active participant of The Conference C:TFoHaT will not be charged with any conference fees.
  5. The Conference’s C:TFoHaT participants must cover all the travel expenses and the eventual accommodation expenses.
  6. All the information about expenses and registration conditions are published on The Conference’s C:TFoHaT website https://carmentalia.info/.
  7. All invited guest are exempt from the registration requirement.
  8. As the part of The Conference C:TFoHaT all active participants will be given a personalised certificate confirming that the author has delivered a paper from The Organisers.

Rules of a passive participation

  1. A passive participant (which is an auditor, a participant who does not deliver a paper) exempt from registration requirements.
  2. The event is open to the public. Everyone interested in speeches can take part in The Conference C:TFoHaT as a passive participant (which is an auditor, a participant who does not deliver a paper).
  3. Participation as a passive participant in The Conference C:TFoHaT means agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Form of participation in The Conference C:TFoHaT

  1. The Conference C:TFoHaT will be conducted in Polish and English.
  2. The Polish-language section runs in-person at the Faculty of Philosophy of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Ogrody Campus Szamarzewskiego 89c Street, 60-568 Poznań).
  3. English-language section will take a hybrid form at the Faculty of Philosophy of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Ogrody Campus Szamarzewskiego 89c Street, 60-568 Poznań) and in online form via Teams.

Safety Rules

  1. The Organiser do not take any responsibility for left, lost or stolen items during The Conference C:TFoHaT.
  2. All participants are required to follow safety, health and safety and fire regulations in force at premises, where The Conference C:TFoHaT is organised.
  3. The organisers reserve the right to remove from The Conference C:TFoHaT venue any person who poses a justified threat or significantly disrupts the planned course of the event. Any person removed will automatically be barred from entering The Conference C:TFoHaT venue for the remainder of the event.

Other provisions

  1. The Conference C:TFoHaT will be photographed and filmed.
  2. English-language of The Conference C:TFoHaT section will transmitted via Teams.
  3. Registering an active participation in The Conference C:TFoHaT means agreeing to using your image by The Organisers for purposes related to the promotion of The Organisers and The Conference C:TFoHaT . The above provisions apply when an active participant is captured on a live broadcast, filmed or photographed whilst attending The Conference C:TFoHaT and when the participant voluntarily agrees to be interviewed on camera or to pose for a photograph.
  4. Staying on the premises during The Conference C:TFoHaT means agreeing to using your image by The Organisers for purposes related to the promotion of The Organisers and The Conference C:TFoHaT . The above provisions apply when an active participant is captured on a live broadcast, filmed or photographed whilst attending The Conference C:TFoHaT and when the participant voluntarily agrees to be interviewed on camera or to pose for a photograph.
  5. By registering for an active participation in The Conference C:TFoHaT, the participants consent to the processing of their personal data by The Organizers for the purposes of The Conference C:TFoHaT, in accordance with the applicable laws, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR), as well as the Polish Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018, as amended.
  6. Any matters not governed by these terms and conditions shall be subject to the provisions of the Polish Civil Code and, where applicable, the Polish Consumer Rights Act, as amended.
